WorkSafeNB is saddened to report that, as a result of injuries sustained from a fall from a mobile rolling scaffold on August 7, a worker died August 11.
WorkSafeNB is investigating a workplace fatality that occurred in Drummond, N.B., on Friday, July 10. At about 2 p.m. a tar truck fell approximately 10 metres (34 feet) into a gravel pit, crushing the truck operator. The worker died from the injuries.
June is Brain Injury Awareness Month and WorkSafeNB encourages all workers to protect their heads.
Grand Bay-Westfield – In recognition of Disability Awareness Week (DAW), WorkSafeNB will host a Walk and Roll Challenge at its rehabilitation centre, 3700 Westfield Rd., in Grand Bay-Westfield at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, June 5 (rain date: June 8).

One phone call will allow the natural gas utility to make sure there are no underground pipelines in the project area.

A video that addresses the dangers of distraction while on the job has won first prize in WorkSafeNB’s It’s Your Job Student Video Contest. Jolan Chiasson-Landry of École Sainte-Anne, in Fredericton, has won $1,000 for his efforts and $1,000 for his school.
Each year, on April 28, the National Day of Mourning honours those killed or injured while on the job.
