Policy

WorkSafeNB is committed to providing an exceptional experience for its stakeholders, which is ultimately achieved through providing an exceptional experience for its own employees. WorkSafeNB’s organizational culture is rooted in this people-first approach and the core values of accountability, collaboration, and trust. The purpose of this policy is to outline the fundamental principles that promote this culture and values in guiding WorkSafeNB’s human resources management strategy.

WorkSafeNB’s human resources management practices also adhere to the following legislation:

Principles

I. WorkSafeNB cultivates positive employee engagement.

WorkSafeNB recognizes that having engaged employees leads to an empowered and high-performing workforce. As part of its ongoing effort to foster employee engagement, WorkSafeNB regularly takes steps to gather employee feedback, implements initiatives based on that feedback, and encourages the recognition and appreciation of its employees’ achievements and performance.

II. WorkSafeNB values accountability, collaboration and trust.

WorkSafeNB acts as one organization by having linked and shared divisional objectives and strategies. While various employees are meeting different goals, it is always with the aim to achieve the same mission for its clients.

Leaders take an active role in helping employees achieve optimal performance through meaningful dialogue and their participation in the annual performance and professional development process.

VI. WorkSafeNB is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace, including promoting the psychological safety of its employees.

WorkSafeNB’s vision to make New Brunswick the safest place to work begins with its goal to be the safest place to work. WorkSafeNB is committed to providing a physically and psychologically healthy and safe environment for not only its employees, but its contractors, clients, and members of the public as well. This is achieved through WorkSafeNB’s strong health and safety program that engages employees in safe work practices in support of a safety culture.
