Health care providers must recognize WorkSafeNB's role and responsibility to adhere to the requirements and principles of the Workers' Compensation Act in managing a worker's compensation claim.
It's the responsibility of health care providers to:
Submit quality and timely clinical reports.
Recognize the importance of the principle of early and safe return to work for injured workers to their overall well being. Getting back is part of getting better.
Be aware of their role in helping patients and their employers in a safe and early return to work and stay at work, as outlined in the Canadian Medical Association's policy and adopted by the New Brunswick Medical Society.
Work co-operatively with WorkSafeNB staff to ensure that injured workers receive appropriate treatment.
