Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians offer support in medication management. They help ensure safe and effective drug therapy for New Brunswick workers. They may renew or extend prescriptions for continuity of care; change drug dosage, formulation and regimen; consult with workers on possible side effects, appropriate care and use, and potential interactions with other medications. They may also start new prescription drug therapy.*
Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work closely with physicians, nurses, dentists and other health-care providers.
WorkSafeNB offers a Direct-Pay Prescription Drug Program to all pharmacies in the Atlantic provinces. It is administered through the Medavie Blue Cross system.
