Shoulder injuries account for about 8%* of all WorkSafeNB claims. Rotator cuff injuries occur most often in people who repeatedly perform overhead motions in their jobs or leisure activities. Affected groups include painters, carpenters and baseball and tennis players.
Many workers recover from rotator cuff disease with physical therapy that improves flexibility and strength of the muscles surrounding the shoulder joint.
WorkSafeNB offers a shoulder injury management program.
