The Terms of Reference (or TOR) is an integral JHSC document. It’s a guideline developed by JHSC members and approved by the employer. The TOR details the purpose, objectives and responsibilities of committee members. It provides a foundation and sets expectations.
The JHSC should review and update the TOR at least annually and when new members join the committee.
Learn more about JHSCs for fixed workplaces and project sites. We encourage all JHSC members to subscribe to E-News to keep up-to-date on health and safety news that can affect their workplace.
