WorkSafeNB invites you to attend its Walk and Roll Challenge at WorkSafeNB’s Rehabilitation Centre, 3700 Westfield Road, Grand Bay-Westfield, at 9:45 a.m., on Friday, May 31 (rain date is June 3).
In support of those with disabilities and in recognition of Disability Awareness Week, WorkSafeNB is inviting community leaders and media representatives to join WorkSafeNB staff and clients in a one-kilometre walk that raises awareness of challenges faced by people with disabilities. Wheelchairs, blindfolds, canes and crutches will be offered to participants who wish to take on the challenge by walking with us, while experiencing some of the hurdles faced by those with disabilities.
The tradition of National Access Awareness Week was first established in 1988 to promote better community access for people with disabilities. This campaign began following Rick Hansen’s Man in Motion World Tour.
With over 26% of New Brunswick’s population having an identifiable disability, this campaign continues to focus on raising awareness and understanding about different disabilities. The theme this year is “Better together!”
We hope your schedule permits you to join us. For more information call 506 632-2223 or email us.
