WorkSafeNB is proud to announce its first-place winning team for its 2018 Focus on Safety Youth Video contest has placed third in a national contest, of the same name, sponsored by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
Alexandre Paquette, Benjamin Babineau and Mathieu Allain from École L’Odyssée, in Moncton, were recognized for L’importance du verrouillage, a two-minute video that depicts the importance of lockout.
CCOHS president and CEO Anne Tennier commented on the team’s skill and ingenuity.
“The creativity and talent of these youth are nothing short of inspiring. And the idea that the contest allows youth to deliver important messages to their peers makes it even more relevant,” she said. “Congratulations to the winners, and all participants, on helping raise awareness of the importance of workplace safety.”
WorkSafeNB president and CEO Douglas Jones thanked all participants for entering the contest and commended the Moncton team for its resourcefulness and passion.
“These young men demonstrated great initiative, knowledge and imagination. Through varied use of black and white and colour shots, they explained the right and wrong way to perform a task. Their message was thought-provoking and effective.”
