This week, we were saddened to learn that Dorine Pirie is required to take immediate medical leave for the balance of her term as chairperson of WorkSafeNB’s board of directors, as she places a necessary priority on her health. Dorine has been instrumental in launching WorkSafeNB through the critical initial stages of its transformation. This necessary transformation occurred both at the board level and throughout management as we actively sought the opinions of all stakeholders on a quest to make better decisions regarding adequate compensation that were more client-focused, while also considering the employers’ fiscal interests.
We are very appreciative of the commitment that Dorine has made to WorkSafeNB and thank her for her leadership over the past four years. We wish her a fond farewell and all the best for a speedy recovery.
WorkSafeNB is pleased to announce that Haley Flaro has agreed to help lead the board of directors of WorkSafeNB, following Dorine’s departure. Effective immediately, Haley will assume the position of acting chairperson until a search process concludes with the appointment of a new chairperson later this year.
Haley has more than 19 years of experience supporting New Brunswickers with health and ability challenges and she is currently the executive director of Ability New Brunswick. We would like to thank Haley for taking on this critical role and for her professional dedication and continuing commitment to WorkSafeNB.
