News Release Focus on Safety Youth Video Contest now on

January 17, 2017

WorkSafeNB, in co-operation with the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, launches the 2017 Focus on Safety Youth Video Contest. The contest invites high school students to create a two-minute original video that captures the importance of working safely. Prizes include cash for both students and their high schools.

The first-place winning video from the New Brunswick contest will be entered in the Canadian Focus on Safety finals, where it will compete against other winning videos from across the country. It will also be viewed by Canadians coast-to-coast during Fan Favourite Week in late April.

“The Focus on Safety video contest is an excellent way for students to express their enthusiasm for safety,” said Tim Petersen, WorkSafeNB acting president and CEO. “Through innovation and creativity, they can effectively share the prevention message. We look forward to see their entries this spring,” he said.

WorkSafeNB encourages all high school students and educators to get involved. Check out WorkSafeNB’s YouTube channel for past entries.

Entry deadline is April 7, 2017. For contest details, go to youthsafenb.ca.
