A video warning about the dangers of fatigue has earned top spot in WorkSafeNB’s “Focus on Safety” youth video contest.
Ismaël Haché Ibraham, from Caraquet, demonstrates in his two-minute clip how tiredness and inattention can lead to death and affect not just the worker, but others.
WorkSafeNB’s “Focus on Safety” contest, which ran from January until April, asked New Brunswick high school students to create a video capturing the importance of working safely.
Haché Ibraham’s submission stood out for its relevancy and impact.
“It illustrates how everyday fatigue, which we all experience from time to time, can lead to deadly results. Ismaël’s video is a reminder we must all be fully attentive and careful when on the job,” said Gerard Adams, WorkSafeNB president and CEO.
Haché Ibraham’s video has been submitted to the national “Focus on Safety” youth video contest, sponsored by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), where it will compete with other first-place winning videos from across the country.
All winning videos are available for viewing on CCOHS’s Facebook page. Canadians can also vote for their top pick until Friday during Fan Favourite Week.
CCOHS will announce the top three winners as well as the Fan Favourite on May 2.
