A 52-year-old man is dead after a workplace accident at the J.D. Irving, Limited, Sawmill Division site in Sussex, New Brunswick, on Monday, February 29.
The worker sustained a head injury in the chipper building at about 1:10 p.m. He later died in hospital.
WorkSafeNB issued a stop-work order not to disturb the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
The investigation helps WorkSafeNB determine how the fatality may have been prevented and whether there were any violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or its regulations.
