WorkSafeNB and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) are pleased to announce the launch of the online, plain-language Guide to New Brunswick’s OHS Legislation.
The new portal features 30 topics with links to resources, including interpretations, summaries, legislation, hazard alerts and safety talks, all in an easy-to-read format.
“We’re very excited to bring this new tool to New Brunswick’s workforce,” said Gerard Adams, WorkSafeNB’s president and CEO. “This is one-stop resource for workers and employers to understand not only what is required by legislation but, more importantly, what we can do to go beyond those requirements – to ensure we all return home safely after work.”
Topics such as fall protection, guardrails and confined spaces are accessible by computer, tablet and smartphone. More topics will be added each year.
The guide is a first for both CCOHS and WorkSafeNB.
“This represents a new generation of technology that makes essential information related to safe work widely accessible, and that will benefit not only those in the New Brunswick construction industry, but in all provincial workplaces,” said Steve Horvath, president and CEO of CCOHS.
The Guide to New Brunswick’s OHS Legislation is available in French and English.
CCOHS plans to collaborate with other Canadian jurisdictions to offer similar portals.
