To be added to the Occupational Health and Safety Training Providers list

In 2014, WorkSafeNB introduced the Recognized Occupational Health and Safety Training Provider Program. WorkSafeNB, in conjunction with a committee representing trainers from the private sector, developed a recognized evaluation process.  As of 2016, our Recognized Occupational Health and Safety Training Providers list contains only recognized and pending providers.

Please note that only a sample of the OHS training provider’s courses will be reviewed with priority being given to zero tolerance courses (fall protection, lock-out, trenching). Recognized providers must be duly diligent in making sure that New Brunswick legislation is accurately referenced in all OHS courses they offer.

Any training providers wanting to apply for Recognized OHS Training Provider status must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain and provide a current certificate of errors and omissions insurance.
  • Have course(s) available to New Brunswickers and referencing New Brunswick legislation.
  • If the training provider employs three or more employees within New Brunswick, they must be registered for WorkSafeNB coverage and provide a WorkSafeNB-issued clearance certificate.

When WorkSafeNB has received all required information and documents, the training provider will be listed on our website as “Recognition Pending”.  Once we have completed our assessment and the training provider has met the recognition requirements, they will receive Recognized OHS Training Provider status on our website and can use this distinction to market their services.

The recognition is valid for three years.
