WorkSafeNB’s
32nd Health and Safety Conference deemed a
success
Atlantic
Canada’s largest and longest running health and safety
conference continues to grow, with 678 participants assembling
at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, September
26-28. In addition to the high numbers, the event was well
received. Of those delegates who responded to a general
evaluation survey, 81.7% rated overall satisfaction with the
conference as excellent or very good. More.

Companies at 32nd Annual Health and Safety
Conference
On
September 27, at its Company Recognition Awards Breakfast,
WorkSafeNB recognized Xstrata Zinc and Air Liquide Canada for
their impressive efforts in improving workplace health and
safety. The breakfast was part of WorkSafeNB’s 32nd
Annual Health and Safety Conference, held at the Saint John
Trade and Convention Centre, September 26-28. More

WorkSafeNB produces a number of documents every year. We have

In
the Courts
Parts for Trucks,
Inc. – On October 14, 2010 a worker was cutting
inside a truck-mounted tank. The plasma cutter caused an
explosion that trapped the worker in the tank and injured a
worker outside the tank. The company was charged with two
counts of breaching the confined space entry regulations. The
company entered a guilty plea on August 21, 2012 on one count
and the other charges were withdrawn. The company was fined
$5,000 plus a victim surcharge.

during the evening rush hour in November than October as
drivers and pedestrians adjusted to the earlier
