Workers are encouraged to complete the Application for Benefits with their employer. If that is not possible, the application can be completed online. Workers should also follow up with their employer to ensure all required details, such as the date and location of the injury, are provided to support the claim.
Have the following information ready:
Medicare and social insurance numbers
Employer contact name, phone number and address
Details of your injury or illness, including date it happened and location
Health care provider name and date of visit, if you received medical treatment
Proof of income (pay stubs) for the four weeks before stopping work, if applying for loss-of-earnings benefits.
Banking information (branch, financial institution and account)

To be eligible for workers' compensation payments, you must work for an employer insured under WorkSafeNB and experience a work-related injury or illness. As part of the claims process, a WorkSafeNB employee will review several pieces of information before making a decision regarding your eligibility.
